First significant design:
The Alden 44 designed for the N.Y.Y.C. One Design competition in 1975. The design was so well received although not selected that John G. Alden Inc. decides on having the Alden 44 built. The first of 39 boats built was launched in 1976.
Unique contributions to Yacht Design:
All inboard centerboard control system for offshore sailing yachts.
Interchangeable keel attachment system, “Interkeel”Ò patented in 1993.
